Q.
A.

You will be meeting up with people you may not know so we advise all members to take the same precautions that they would take when meeting anyone new for the first time. Trust your instincts and keep in mind this simple set of guidelines at all times:

Do's

Meet in a public place

On first meetings, ALWAYS arrange to meet in a busy, populated, public place. Never meet at an individual residence or in a remote or isolated location.

Tell a friend.

Tell at least one friend or family member who you are meeting, where you are playing and when you expect to return. Let your opponent know that your game is not a secret.

Take a mobile phone with you.

If you have a mobile phone, take it with you to your game. Most mobile phones can be used to call 999.

Arrange to Play Again, if you have enjoyed your game and feel comfortable

DON’Ts

Accept an offer of transport.

Get yourself to and from the venue, even if you have to ask a friend to drive you or take public transport.

Leave personal belongings unattended.

Don't risk having your personal information stolen.

Drink alcohol excessively after your game.

Refrain from drinking excessively, as it could impair your ability to make good decisions and may put you at risk.
